An approved Auxiliary I-Department website

So you want to attend the AUX-04 'C' School?  Here's what you must do...

  • First: You must determine if you have the computer skills required
    • You should be familiar with the use of e-mail, web-surfing, saving and moving files on your computer...these are just the basic skills. This course does not require previous experience in Websites or PowerPoint, as it is designed for entry level students.
    • Read the Course Details and Curriculum to assess if you're ready to tackle this computer intensive course.
    • Note the prerequisites for the course.
  • Second: Talk to other auxiliary members in your unit.
    • Do they need a CS officer, or someone to assist the CS Officer?  AUX-04 shows you how to build a website.
    • Talk to the MT or PE Officers, maybe they'd like someone that could develop or assist in the development of unit training materials?   AUX-04 shows you how to develop your own PowerPoint presentations.
    • Ask your PA Officer, he/she might need assistance.  With the skills learned at AUX-04, you could develop a presentation for a public information kiosk--telling the public about the Auxiliary and what your unit is doing in your area.
  • Third: Okay you say yes to the above...what next?
    • You must complete (fill-out) an Auxiliary Short Term Training Request (STTR).  Your unit may have this form or better yet, since your good with a computer, just download a copy of the ANSC-7059.
    • Check the latest C-School list on the C-School Portal website and choose the class location/date you prefer.
  • Forth: Give the completed STTR to your Flotilla Commander (FC).
    • Your FC should sign it and forward it onto your District DIRAUX.
    • Your DIRAUX will collect all STTRs, review them and enter them into the Training Database (Direct Access).
    • The Chief Director's staff (G-OCX) will review the requests, enroll members, request orders be issued from the Training Quota Management Center.
    • For 2008, four classes are scheduled with 20 seats per class.  Hopefully, your name will be on the list.  Apply early (at least 90 days in advance of the class date you prefer).  Your DIRAUX will keep you informed.
  • Fifth: After your STTR is on its way...

...Good Luck!  Hope to see you in class.
